Why Meditate the Vedic Way?

The Vedic Meditation Technique is a simple, natural, effortless procedure practiced for 20 minutes in the morning and evening, while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. ‘Vedic’ means from the Veda. The Veda is the 10,000 year old body of knowledge from ancient India that is the source of Yoga, Meditation, Ayurvedic medicine, Indian Philosophy and most Eastern Philosophies.

The benefits one acquires from Vedic Meditation are numerous. This is why it has been scientifically studied and its benefits proven more so than any other meditation technique. The reason why it is so beneficial is because the Vedic form of meditation enables one to transcend into subtler stratas of the mind. This enables the body to receive the kind of deep rest that it deserves, 5 times deeper than any given nights sleep and thus releasing all stresses from its structure. Not only that but Vedic meditation also allows one to transcend (step beyond) even the most subtle, deepest stratas of the mind into Being. It is in contact with Being, the source of all things that one finds true happiness and fulfilment and not in the attainment of things in the external, physical world such as relationships, career, money and possessions. These external things are simply a means to share and give the real happiness and fulfilment that lies within us. This true happiness and fulfillment is found and stabilised through a regular meditation practice of communing with Being, the source of all things, a place of silence.

The power of Vedic Meditation is in its effortlessness. Most people believe that they can not meditate because they have too many thoughts, are unable to concentrate and quieten their minds. Yet it is these things that make them prime candidates for this form of meditation. There is no need to quieten the mind because the vedic meditation technique quietens it for you. As the mind de-excites and experiences its least excited state, it rests and yet still remains fully awake and alert. This is a unique state of 'restful alertness'. As the body gains a state of deep rest, 5 times more restful than sleep, stresses are released for elimination. Stresses can only be released from the body via a form. The form that the stresses take are thoughts. Thoughts are the aftermath of stress release and therefore play an important role in the meditation process.
This deep rest rejuvenates the entire mind and body and eliminates accumulated stress, tension and fatigue forever.

After meditating, meditators report feeling refreshed mentally and physically – they are calmer and enjoy greater mental clarity, an increase in physical energy and a clearer understanding of the process of manifestation.

Vedic Meditation is widely practised around the world and the benefits of this technique have been verified by numerous years of scientific research conducted in independent universities and research institutes. Many of these studies have been published in leading scientific journals. Research into the effects of Vedic Meditation demonstrates its ability to create powerful, measurable changes in an individual’s physiology.
