There will be a special Guru Purnima group meditation and celebration at 7pm on July 6th at fellow meditator and close friend Jenny Bunnett's home at 60 Park Rd, Middle Park. There will be a special Guru Purnima group meditation and celebration at 7pm on July 6th at fellow meditator and close friend Jenny Bunnett's home at 60 Park Rd, Middle Park. If you are able to, do join us to celebrate Guru Purnima, which is the special day on which we honour the tradition of Vedic Masters. Guru Purnima is held each year around the full moon in the month of July. On this day we give thanks for the blessing of our meditation technique to that lineage of teachers who have passed this knowledge down through the ages, and we open ourselves to an ever more full understanding of Vedic wisdom. It is a tradition on this day that a boon (wish) is granted to meditators. In formulating your wish, it is best to think on a larger scale, envision something that in its granting, will benefit others through you. Bring yourself, your wish and flower to offer in ceremony. Once again Jenny Bunnett has kindly offered to open her home to us and to also provide a light meal, after which we will enjoy the other traditional activities - eating something sweet and then a walk in the moonlight. Let me know if you are able to join us or just turn up on the night. All meditators in our tradition are welcome. There will be students of mine, of Kay Dyson's (my colleague in Fitzroy) as well as students of other teachers based in Sydney and of my teacher, Thom Knoles. It'd wonderful to see you there and for you to meet other members of the Melbourne Vedic Community.
